ok isn't support, , i'm aware of how problematic might be... have mother uses ubuntu , i'd find way tell machine update daily. going put in rc.local. question though if put these 2 commands in rc.local:

apt-get update apt-get -y upgrade

would work? yes again i'm aware things can break , that. i'm doing time update manager. have yet have issue. figure long don't weird ppa on machine should fine.

yes work don't think (-y) will:
run both commands 'root' user

apt-get update

and run:

apt-get upgrade

not sure if putting them in rc.local correct-
update both of systems once each week unless ubuntu security or debian security team e-mails me advisory update day.
write script , have scheduled run -
