when try install ubuntu12.10 usb drive there no grub2 menu instead shows black screen says

"busybox v1.10.5 (ubuntu 1:1.10.5-1ubuntu4.1) built-in shell (ash)

how install it?

you may having video issues. 2 little icons @ bottom of screen, keyboard & person accessibility icons? press key, f6 , add nomodeset.

how set nomodeset , other kernel boot options in grub2 - both livecd & first boot, different

NIK SELECTIVE TOOL INTERMITTANT FAILURE.

ref: win7-64 /ps cs6 /google-nik collection.   after working "a time", select brush option in nik plugin, & when image "re-opens" in ps, plugin has selected ps brush tool, & can paint on effect i'd created, selective tool interface fails open, & there's no way apply or discard effect. at point ps "hung", waiting command either apply, or discard brush effect, can't done without selective tool interface; , way out, ctrl/alt/del close photoshop-- & lose work!  (results in ps appscrash result). the selective tool folder contained selectivepalette.8li file, along seltoolinst.cfg (instructional script tool??), , hdrefexpro2.jsx file. nik told me hdrefexpro2.jsx file did not belong there, & delete it, , sent me seltoolinst.cfg file replace existing one; , fixed problem short time! now works awhile, fails.---wont open either brush command, or automate. i check folder, & "something" has placed/re-placed deleted  hdrefex...
