Thread: Which programs/files are needed to set up and configure firewall rules?

i new linux , ubuntu.

besides iptables , netfilter, other programs , files need use in order set , configure firewall rules. purpose force outbound traffic through software.

i'm not sure iptables can this. iptables deals port filtering, , packet redirection. don't think can direct packets specific software
