Thread: Atheros AR8162 wired Ethernet -- no driver?

hi, all. bought new asus x201e. ironically, *came* linux, before installed ubuntu on myself, live booted , checked usual points of failure: wifi, touchpad, etc. never considered wired nic might not work. booted fine in ubuntu... no eth0. "ifconfig -a" shows lack. dmesg makes no mention of 8162. (the mention of atheros wifi.) lspci *does* show -- it's not it's disabled in bios or -- no driver.

have idea? insmod'd .ko files "locate -i atheros | grep '\.ko'" kicked back. stumped.
