help slow internet speed test in ubuntu



new linux. installed ubuntu 13.04 , love it. previous on windows vista home. unfotunatly experience slow internet speed tested speedtest.net in ubuntu 12.04 , 13.04 compared windows on period of 3 days.



i run wired connection fibre broadband 30/10 on pace v5542 gateway router. tested speeds follow:


windows
download: between 23.72 27.88
upload: between 8.64 9.58



ubuntu 13.04


download: 7.25 14.36
upload: 7.93 9.52


what can better speed?
