i new linux have picked hp proliant dl360 server wanting try set home entertainment system , file server , maybe web server. have been told ubuntu not run on not having drivers server needs components on server board can 1 tell me linux os can use on or how go installing ubuntu on it.

i not aware of , suggest run live cd (the try without installing mode) , see yourself.
