Thread: can't log in: log screen loop

hello,

i've got big problem here , badly need help. don't know happened, can't log computer anymore. or more precise, keep logging in, , there usual black screen usual start process messages, barely second, , it's login page.

can't log in guest account. on other hand, possible log in using text modus ctrl+alt+f1, there no problems use live usb stick i'm doing now.

but, , may relevant:

* prior this, kept getting error message "permission denied" in file manager pcmanfm, has home folder start folder. "file system" entry had disappeared locations bar on left side.

* in live usb environment, can access data on home folder--if open folders root.

maybe it's problem permissions? or x-server crash? lightdm problem? don't know.

use xubuntu 12.04, 64bit (and have gnome installed). graphic card:

NIK SELECTIVE TOOL INTERMITTANT FAILURE.

ref: win7-64 /ps cs6 /google-nik collection.   after working "a time", select brush option in nik plugin, & when image "re-opens" in ps, plugin has selected ps brush tool, & can paint on effect i'd created, selective tool interface fails open, & there's no way apply or discard effect. at point ps "hung", waiting command either apply, or discard brush effect, can't done without selective tool interface; , way out, ctrl/alt/del close photoshop-- & lose work!  (results in ps appscrash result). the selective tool folder contained selectivepalette.8li file, along seltoolinst.cfg (instructional script tool??), , hdrefexpro2.jsx file. nik told me hdrefexpro2.jsx file did not belong there, & delete it, , sent me seltoolinst.cfg file replace existing one; , fixed problem short time! now works awhile, fails.---wont open either brush command, or automate. i check folder, & "something" has placed/re-placed deleted  hdrefex...
