Why is Encore CS6 Menu quality so poor/bad?

hello all,

 

my client , frustrated on image quality of menu in encore when creating standard definition dvd.

 

the menu source .psd. tried various resolutions , once dvd ceated image pixellated , hard read text in logos (see attachment). tried making motion menu image creating timeline in p pro. same results.

 

i understand sd , customer playing 720 x 480 image on high resolution monitor doesn't help.

 

the videos portions of dvd ok (mpg2) , graphics hold lot better in video portions.

 

would appreciate advice on issue client , frustrated.

 

i try , test on system today.

 

what think hardware/software (something other encore) solution create decent looking dvd?

"please select division icon" - in psd/menu these buttons or background image?

 

what pixel size , par of original psd using menu?

 

the screenshot have posted 1920x1200. when try see might @ 720x480 dvd size (change par or dv widescreen, downrez) bad, considering there lot of small detail.

 

at stage downrezzing? users leave encore, poor option.

NIK SELECTIVE TOOL INTERMITTANT FAILURE.

ref: win7-64 /ps cs6 /google-nik collection.   after working "a time", select brush option in nik plugin, & when image "re-opens" in ps, plugin has selected ps brush tool, & can paint on effect i'd created, selective tool interface fails open, & there's no way apply or discard effect. at point ps "hung", waiting command either apply, or discard brush effect, can't done without selective tool interface; , way out, ctrl/alt/del close photoshop-- & lose work!  (results in ps appscrash result). the selective tool folder contained selectivepalette.8li file, along seltoolinst.cfg (instructional script tool??), , hdrefexpro2.jsx file. nik told me hdrefexpro2.jsx file did not belong there, & delete it, , sent me seltoolinst.cfg file replace existing one; , fixed problem short time! now works awhile, fails.---wont open either brush command, or automate. i check folder, & "something" has placed/re-placed deleted  hdrefex...
