Photos won't import...

i'm trying upload photos canon 70d lightroom 3.6

 

i've imported camera before , shuffled photos around, thought time , date on camera since wasn't set (it's new). i'm trying import , says converting dng , screen says importing photos nothing happening. ideas?

my information support canon 70d arrived lightroom 5.2.

lightroom 3.6 cannot import cr2 files 70d.

 

if cannot upgrade version of lightroom possible alternative use adobe's dng converter first.

lr 3.6 happily import dng files.

NIK SELECTIVE TOOL INTERMITTANT FAILURE.

ref: win7-64 /ps cs6 /google-nik collection.   after working "a time", select brush option in nik plugin, & when image "re-opens" in ps, plugin has selected ps brush tool, & can paint on effect i'd created, selective tool interface fails open, & there's no way apply or discard effect. at point ps "hung", waiting command either apply, or discard brush effect, can't done without selective tool interface; , way out, ctrl/alt/del close photoshop-- & lose work!  (results in ps appscrash result). the selective tool folder contained selectivepalette.8li file, along seltoolinst.cfg (instructional script tool??), , hdrefexpro2.jsx file. nik told me hdrefexpro2.jsx file did not belong there, & delete it, , sent me seltoolinst.cfg file replace existing one; , fixed problem short time! now works awhile, fails.---wont open either brush command, or automate. i check folder, & "something" has placed/re-placed deleted  hdrefex...
