HELP with CD artwork

this far frustrating software i've ever used.

 

this 4th attempt help. first day of 30 day free trial

 

trying create cd artwork on template. loads onto layer page , not show onto cd template @ all.

 

i attempted because became furious cd cover artwork not user friendly. not stupid man, adobe sure makes me feel it!!

 

help please anybody. have deadline meet

photoshop has pretty big learning curve.  "first day of free trial" , "deadline" don't seem bedfellows.

 

that said, layers composite bottom top.  speaking, stuff want see should on top.

 

or can set layer blending mode of template "multiply", things dark on template show on image.

 

while forum isn't best tool learning photoshop scratch in general, if you'll screen grab photoshop environment , post here i'm sure can through specific issues.  make sure describe what's wrong in detail , you'd do.

NIK SELECTIVE TOOL INTERMITTANT FAILURE.

ref: win7-64 /ps cs6 /google-nik collection.   after working "a time", select brush option in nik plugin, & when image "re-opens" in ps, plugin has selected ps brush tool, & can paint on effect i'd created, selective tool interface fails open, & there's no way apply or discard effect. at point ps "hung", waiting command either apply, or discard brush effect, can't done without selective tool interface; , way out, ctrl/alt/del close photoshop-- & lose work!  (results in ps appscrash result). the selective tool folder contained selectivepalette.8li file, along seltoolinst.cfg (instructional script tool??), , hdrefexpro2.jsx file. nik told me hdrefexpro2.jsx file did not belong there, & delete it, , sent me seltoolinst.cfg file replace existing one; , fixed problem short time! now works awhile, fails.---wont open either brush command, or automate. i check folder, & "something" has placed/re-placed deleted  hdrefex...
