Lightroom 5.3 Windows 7: Why are duplicates left behind when moving photos, etc.?

in library mode:

  1. moving photograph 1 folder creates 2 copies, 1 in destination folder , 1 in originating folder.
  2. in grid view, right clicking on discarded photo , choosing delete disk no longer works photo deleted not show in lightroom in windows files still remains on hard drive.

 

 

in first few months these 2 features worked no longer respond in same way. tried alt delete , photo removed lightroom not original folder. 

 

is bug or windows problem?

found solution corrupt catalog by:

     1.  creating new catalogue

          a. adding photos

          b. deleting photos , moving photos

 

moving photos between folders worked. right clicking , choosing delete disk in library worked.

NIK SELECTIVE TOOL INTERMITTANT FAILURE.

ref: win7-64 /ps cs6 /google-nik collection.   after working "a time", select brush option in nik plugin, & when image "re-opens" in ps, plugin has selected ps brush tool, & can paint on effect i'd created, selective tool interface fails open, & there's no way apply or discard effect. at point ps "hung", waiting command either apply, or discard brush effect, can't done without selective tool interface; , way out, ctrl/alt/del close photoshop-- & lose work!  (results in ps appscrash result). the selective tool folder contained selectivepalette.8li file, along seltoolinst.cfg (instructional script tool??), , hdrefexpro2.jsx file. nik told me hdrefexpro2.jsx file did not belong there, & delete it, , sent me seltoolinst.cfg file replace existing one; , fixed problem short time! now works awhile, fails.---wont open either brush command, or automate. i check folder, & "something" has placed/re-placed deleted  hdrefex...
