Thread: Error In Installing Wine

i had downloaded wine, extracted , started installing command ./configure.
after applying command, ends in error message


configure: error: x development files not found. wine built
without x support, isn't want. need
install development packages of xlib/xfree86 @ least.
use --without-x option if want this.

have installed 64 bit version of os.


please me. in advance.

why not install wine repositories?

sudo apt-get install wine
if need install source (i don't recommend beginner) try installing x11 development libraries first:

sudo apt-get install libx11-dev
