When importing sony hd video files with .m2ts extension Premeir Elements 12 crashes

i purchased premeir elements 12 , trying import hundreds of sony hd camera video files. have .m2ts extension. using win 8.1 on asus system. cam import files if try many (more 10) crashes. crashes on 1-3 file imports.

  1. what os version running pre 12 on?
  2. what full specs. of computer - more info, better?
  3. are there warning, or error messages related hang/crash?
  4. what project's setting?
  5. did set manually, or let pre choose you, first mts file?
  6. what exact specs. of mts files, i.e. frame size, compression type/codec, etc.?

 

good luck, , place start troubleshooting issue.

NIK SELECTIVE TOOL INTERMITTANT FAILURE.

ref: win7-64 /ps cs6 /google-nik collection.   after working "a time", select brush option in nik plugin, & when image "re-opens" in ps, plugin has selected ps brush tool, & can paint on effect i'd created, selective tool interface fails open, & there's no way apply or discard effect. at point ps "hung", waiting command either apply, or discard brush effect, can't done without selective tool interface; , way out, ctrl/alt/del close photoshop-- & lose work!  (results in ps appscrash result). the selective tool folder contained selectivepalette.8li file, along seltoolinst.cfg (instructional script tool??), , hdrefexpro2.jsx file. nik told me hdrefexpro2.jsx file did not belong there, & delete it, , sent me seltoolinst.cfg file replace existing one; , fixed problem short time! now works awhile, fails.---wont open either brush command, or automate. i check folder, & "something" has placed/re-placed deleted  hdrefex...
