Thread: Where to download various desktop environments from ?


hi
have xubuntu 13.04 , want try out different desktop environments

- unity 6.6.0

- gnome shell 3.6.2
- gnome classic 3.6.2
- kde plasma 4.9.90
- xfce 4.10
- lxde 0.5.11

feel free suggest more if have missed .

i couldn't find them in synaptic package manager.
perhaps need add repository first.
but dont repository, if create sticky thread here contains list of desktop environments , repository links.

following blog inspired me try them on pc [intel pentium 4 , 2 gig ram , intel 915 motherboard]

more using xfce 4.10 when using xubuntu.

there many more window managers, floating, tiling , both.

there distinction between window manager , desktop environment.

if want try bit different try tiling window manager such awesome. can used both tiling , floating window manager.
