Thread: Exim4 reloading configuration changes

hello folks

i'm administering server setup else, learning how exim works go along

we're running exim 4.71-3ubuntu1.4 on our 10.04 lts server , have noticed issues spf rejecting ipv6 hosts when shouldn't. there's known bug found, think our problem.

anyway, it's not practical upgrade newer version, thought i'd disable spf. looking @ logs, don't block many emails via spf checking anyway.

so, have edited /etc/exim4/conf.d/main/01_spamblock

check_rcpt_spf = false

ran
update-exim4.conf
service exim4 reload

checking mainlog file morning, can still see few 'spf check failed' entries, hasn't disabled spf checking. have missed something? there else need run reload config?

i've checked in /var/lib/exim4/config.autogenerated , change shows in there.

this fixed.

needed remove 'check_rcpt_spf =' line completely.

spf checking script looks see if variable defined, doesn't care whether it's true or false - it's or nothing.

NIK SELECTIVE TOOL INTERMITTANT FAILURE.

ref: win7-64 /ps cs6 /google-nik collection.   after working "a time", select brush option in nik plugin, & when image "re-opens" in ps, plugin has selected ps brush tool, & can paint on effect i'd created, selective tool interface fails open, & there's no way apply or discard effect. at point ps "hung", waiting command either apply, or discard brush effect, can't done without selective tool interface; , way out, ctrl/alt/del close photoshop-- & lose work!  (results in ps appscrash result). the selective tool folder contained selectivepalette.8li file, along seltoolinst.cfg (instructional script tool??), , hdrefexpro2.jsx file. nik told me hdrefexpro2.jsx file did not belong there, & delete it, , sent me seltoolinst.cfg file replace existing one; , fixed problem short time! now works awhile, fails.---wont open either brush command, or automate. i check folder, & "something" has placed/re-placed deleted  hdrefex...
