Thread: unable to see devices in Nautilus and unable to mount external drives
hi,
until install of ubuntu 12.04lts working fine ran trouble windows partitions , restored disk image had. able boot had restore grub using boot repair ubuntu usb.
not sure, after restore think still ok, ubuntu run automatic updates.
problems started after that. when eve connect usb stick or esata drive not mount automatically before. devices sections in nautilus has disappeared. have tried use command mount /dev/<name of partition> fails giving me message <partition> not in fstab.
extremely annoying used several usb drive , esata drive frequently. having mount them manually everytime plug/unplug not workable option, if managed it...
have tried pretty solutions suggested in various forum (uninstall/purge nautilus, deleting ./nautilus folder, uninstall/reinstallgvfs).
command: sudo ps -e | grep gvfs-gdu-volume returns nothing on computer.
have tried restore old image of ubuntu partition... , surprise problem still there!!! logic conclusions messed @ boot/mbr level triggers odd!
or comment welcome...
thanks
