Thread: Problem installing LW272 3G data card

after week of frantically searching solution, on verge of giving up.
have 3g data card lw272 teracom (mtnl) running absolutely fine in windows. have problem in installing on ubuntu 12.10. lsusb output gives me vendor id 0x230d , product id 0x0103. have installed usb_modeswitch , created file /etc/usb_modeswitch.d/230d:0103 containing following information :-

defaultvendor=0x230d
defaultproduct=0x0103
configuration=2

/lib/udev/rules.d/40-usb_modeswitch.rules contains following :-

#linktop lw272/lw273 (bsnl teracom)
attrs{idvendor}=="230d", attrs{idproduct}=="0103", run+="usb_modeswitch '%b/%k'"

after having done this, when plug in modem, nothing seems happen. there no new broadband connection available in network manager applet.

this device seems unknown far, guess should add here , there. post output of "lsusb -vd 230d:0103" start?

how did come modeswitch config?
