Thread: (12.04) Broken Dependencies (libcairo)
hey there, everybody.
decent user of ubuntu, i've been running since 10.04 , have gotten reasonably familiar aspects of day-to-day use. installed new intel graphics package manager, in hopes improve experience ironlake mobile graphics card. @ point during upgrade process being run app, broke. now, have error telling me libcairo broken twice. have 2 separate broken dependency errors, , neither 1 seems fixable. libcairo2 breaks libcairo2:i386, , libcairo2:i386 breaks libcairo2. however, neither can repaired using package manager, , when attempting uninstall either one, told huge amount of other packages depend on it, , marked uninstallation. apt-get install -f doesn't help, apt-get autoremove doesn't help, nothing have tried works , preventing me updating/installing other package. do in situation?

update: seems bold text above isn't enough here's again, in bold + red: not install on ubuntu 64bit yet (i don't know fedora , ubuntu 32bit, on ubuntu 64bit, there multi-arch dependency issues can break system)!
there's plenty of advice there if need it, lot of other people acted , didn't read postis on 64bit? if so, may same multiarch issue i've encountered, although intel installer displayed message saying drivers couldn't upgraded, didn't try remove anything. , command line, "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade" wanted remove bunch of stuff didn't continue installation. if that's case else, not proceed installation , disable intel repository (gksu gedit /etc/apt/sources.list.d/intellinuxgraphics.list , add "#" in front of line in file, run "sudo apt-get update").
