Still pictures have very poor quality

hello,

first of new adobe premier.

 

now have couple of high quality images somewhere around 1600 x 1100 pixels.

 

i on mac , when open these jpgs in preview fantastic, after importing them premier , adding them sequence, lose insane amounts of quality , bad.

 

why happening , how can fix it?

need other info ... , there's faq around on suggested infor when asking request ... don't need of help.

 

what's sequence settings? mixing them vid footage or placing stills on timeline? what's mac's video set-up? , program-monitor set full quality or half or quarter when you're looking @ them? minimalist starters ... answer , can jump in pretty quick ... might take stab @ you've said ...

NIK SELECTIVE TOOL INTERMITTANT FAILURE.

ref: win7-64 /ps cs6 /google-nik collection.   after working "a time", select brush option in nik plugin, & when image "re-opens" in ps, plugin has selected ps brush tool, & can paint on effect i'd created, selective tool interface fails open, & there's no way apply or discard effect. at point ps "hung", waiting command either apply, or discard brush effect, can't done without selective tool interface; , way out, ctrl/alt/del close photoshop-- & lose work!  (results in ps appscrash result). the selective tool folder contained selectivepalette.8li file, along seltoolinst.cfg (instructional script tool??), , hdrefexpro2.jsx file. nik told me hdrefexpro2.jsx file did not belong there, & delete it, , sent me seltoolinst.cfg file replace existing one; , fixed problem short time! now works awhile, fails.---wont open either brush command, or automate. i check folder, & "something" has placed/re-placed deleted  hdrefex...
