Thread: How to change the default suspend mode?

i read here, there these available modes of suspend:

standby
acpi state s1. state offers minimal, though real,
power savings, while providing low-latency transi‐
tion working system. default mode.

mem
acpi state s3 (suspend-to-ram). state offers signif‐
icant power savings in system put
low-power state, except memory, is
placed in self-refresh mode retain contents.

disk
acpi state s4 (suspend-to-disk). state offers the
greatest power savings, , can used in the
absence of low-level platform support power manage‐
ment. state operates suspend-to-ram,
includes final step of writing memory contents to
disk.

use 'sleep' on laptop time instead of shutting down, according article read, when uses "state s1". how change behaviour uses "state s3" (above)?

thanks.

have in bios.
