What is a thumbnail and how do you create it?

i use photoshop edit image normal size use , "save web" compress it.  how create thumbnail.  thumbnail smaller size image cropped normal size or take further revising?  converting expression web 4 , in program clicked on button create thumbnail difficult change dw editior though finding better editor ew4.

you're right, thumbnail same image in reduzed size. use file manager , store same images 2 directories (i name them "small" , "big"). image processing program photoshop (or ms picture manager or, or ..) i'm able produce reduced images in 1 pass.

 

these "two size" images needed image galleries.
