Thread: Server can't access internet

so have ubuntu server running on machine can't access internet it. have hooked through ethernet cable, @ university , require sign in through web browser before accessing internet. can't go in because recognize browsers chrome, firefox, ie, etc. tried using command line browser , didn't anything. here have solution this? can't install firefox because of lack of internet access. i'm not able install on ssh, because connection fails now, though working earlier. happened after running updates (apt-get upgrade) , rebooting. input appreciated, i've been working @ while without progress.

NIK SELECTIVE TOOL INTERMITTANT FAILURE.

ref: win7-64 /ps cs6 /google-nik collection.   after working "a time", select brush option in nik plugin, & when image "re-opens" in ps, plugin has selected ps brush tool, & can paint on effect i'd created, selective tool interface fails open, & there's no way apply or discard effect. at point ps "hung", waiting command either apply, or discard brush effect, can't done without selective tool interface; , way out, ctrl/alt/del close photoshop-- & lose work!  (results in ps appscrash result). the selective tool folder contained selectivepalette.8li file, along seltoolinst.cfg (instructional script tool??), , hdrefexpro2.jsx file. nik told me hdrefexpro2.jsx file did not belong there, & delete it, , sent me seltoolinst.cfg file replace existing one; , fixed problem short time! now works awhile, fails.---wont open either brush command, or automate. i check folder, & "something" has placed/re-placed deleted  hdrefex...
