Thread: Popping sound with audio in 12.04

after attaching sound blaster fx usb , rebooting audio fine

there consistent (but not constant) popping/ crackling sound being produced. annoying when playing music.

have speakers connected headphone jack on motherboard

in phonon control module default settings keep reverting hdmi sound card output

attempting fix in phonon - kde control module changing audio hardware setup sound card setting built in audio - analog stereo output not work:

settings keep resetting hdmi every 5 - 10 seconds causing popping sound.

attempted fixes include editing the:

/usr/lib/pm-utils/power.d/intel-audio-powersave

file remove true value , replace false in posts such as:

and

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1312690

there no power save options in file.

popping not happen when log out splash screen.

seems alsa issue not sure

Creative Cloud - Installation Error 205
