Bullets and numbers changing when PPT slides are imported - Captivate 6

i hoping has solution problem occurred week captivate 6 - never had kind of problem previously.  use captivate 6 merge audio powerpoint online education programs nurses.  when uploaded powerpoint slides new presentation week, of bullets , numbers changed characters.  when tried edit powerpoint slide through captivate, correct, when went captivate screen, wrong characters in place.  able make temporary less-desireable solution - used powerpoint print individual pdf images of each slide importing errors , replaced text on slides image created.  not perfect worked. 

 

however, hoping may have solution. included 2 images below of numbering - 1 on left powerpoint , 1 on right shows in captivate.  in other slides, or numbers changed } instead of number.  tried captivate fix see in image below, able letters under 3 appear few different combinations  never correct a, b, c.  or suggestions appreciated. originally, 3 appeared a able remain 3 eventually.

NIK SELECTIVE TOOL INTERMITTANT FAILURE.

ref: win7-64 /ps cs6 /google-nik collection.   after working "a time", select brush option in nik plugin, & when image "re-opens" in ps, plugin has selected ps brush tool, & can paint on effect i'd created, selective tool interface fails open, & there's no way apply or discard effect. at point ps "hung", waiting command either apply, or discard brush effect, can't done without selective tool interface; , way out, ctrl/alt/del close photoshop-- & lose work!  (results in ps appscrash result). the selective tool folder contained selectivepalette.8li file, along seltoolinst.cfg (instructional script tool??), , hdrefexpro2.jsx file. nik told me hdrefexpro2.jsx file did not belong there, & delete it, , sent me seltoolinst.cfg file replace existing one; , fixed problem short time! now works awhile, fails.---wont open either brush command, or automate. i check folder, & "something" has placed/re-placed deleted  hdrefex...
