Thread: USB Saitek Flight Yoke works perfectly for 5 minutes then freezes

subject says all. using flightgear. ubuntu 12.10 32-bit on dual core 3.2 ghz 4 gb ram.

@ first:
lsusb showed yoke , pedals
command line tools js_test , calibrate worked
flightgear instantly recognized them , worked
few seconds flight, controls stopped working
(the yoke , throttles stopped working pedals still worked)
after stopped working, still showed under 'lsusb'
flightgear show error message in console, "/dev/input/js0: no such file"
when stopped working in flightgear, stopped working in js_test , other cmdline utilities
(these utils see controls no movement register)

did:
created rules.d file open permissions on device files
worked: perms on /dev/input/js0 , /dev/input/js1 went 644 666
plugged yoke in first, pedals, ensure yoke js0 , pedals js1
worked: yoke became js0 , pedals became js1

happened next:
flightgear works 5 minutes
5 minutes flight, yoke , throttles stop responding
pedals (separate usb connection) still work
after controls stop working, "/dev/input/js0" error message never appears anymore

did:
pause simulator, unplug yoke usb, plug in
sometimes, starts working again , can resume flight

in short, works freezes after 5 minutes. help!

more info:
symptoms consistent usb going auto-suspend mode, checked system , usb set autosuspend after 2 seconds. added "usbcore.autosuspend=-1" kernel boot, confirmed set after boot.
fixed intermittent usb problems machine having, yoke & throttles still froze/hung after few seconds few minutes.

no solution problem, returning these yoke/pedals defective.
btw, dual boot box , same problem occurred in windows too.
