the memory usage starts @ 22% builds, , reaches 70% after 10 hours of uptime. if left alone, swap file start being used, , programs slow being unusable. logging out/in recovers memory! shouldn't memory releasing after use? concern? which process has memory leak? can use top find out if you're not sure. i've got asus laptop uefi i'm trying reinstall ubuntu 12.4 via usb, procedure stops after grub screen. if choose (install ubuntu) screen turn black , pc stops. how can solve problem? dual boot or single os of ubuntu? either way, must make sure secure boot disabled, , must boot usb in uefi mode if wish install in mode. however, talking grub screen, have installed ubuntu , unable boot it, or mean boot screen may see when running usb? see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/uefi more details of procedures needed. hello there i've installed xubuntu 12.10 on laptop (modell: acer aspire timelinex 3820tg-484g75nks) , encountering black screens after logging in account. single retry works (force shutdown , login), not 10 times in row gets me logged in, quite annoying might imagine. guest account seems work far can tell (havn't used lot). first thought have had using external monitor. however, encountered issue after not having used 1 well. unlike issue described here , i'm not getting background , unable use alt+f2. appreciated! my friend has been having strange issues hard drive after installing ubuntu. os freezes after loging in , can't except turn computer off button. upon trying install windows on computer (just thinking ubuntu dosnt hardware) found windows couldnt install it's self on drive. realizing drive issue decided further investigation. put drive ubuntu computer , planned format , fine, wrong. drive shows in nautilus cant mount it, in gparted main problem see there no partition table. when try create partition table prompted message: input/output error during read on /dev/sdb after reading on internet little have become concerned. have done multiple thing fix no results. please drive brand-new , i'm afraid might dead. thx help. in ubuntu type "disks" in dash , open app. if disk listed in red on left panel there errors. can click on 'more actions' button ...

i working acrobat xi pro , ms word 2010.   i have 2 word documents, lets call them doc1 & doc2 doc2 includes bookmarks, doc1 linked doc2 bookmarks. everything work perfect.   but when convert doc2 pdf, links bookmarks become simple links open document.   what can fix this?   thank in advance are word files in master document? i published web gallery lr 5.3. displayed beautifully in safari, in chrome rows wrapped.   i set table 5 thumbs in row...when viewed in chrome, first row had 4 images, second had 1 image, next 4, next 1 , on. looks table wrapped though there wasn't enough width, though browser more wide enough accomodate 5 in a row.   this new occurence. yesterday web gallery looked great in chrome. cleared cache--still no joy.   any ideas? in advance...   ps. when viewed gallery in chrome locally displayed properly. it's online , in chrome have issue.
