i've bought new fujitsu ah 532 lifebook laptop windows 8, 64 bit os. i've installed adobe audition cs6 on , i've connected alesis multimix 16 firewire via startech 34mm firewire express card has texas instrument chipset. aa cs6 sees mixer allows stereo track input not want record. i've attached images of audio channel mapping, audio hardware setup, , multitrack recording view. i'm using alesis windows 7 driver mixer. see cannot select sample rate in audio hardware setup panel, sample rate stuck on zero. in multitrack view there's no signal when press record button.       all suggestions , highly appreciated.   regards,   donovan. my guess @ windows 8 doing - alesis driver win8 compatible? does alesis software come sort of 'control panel' allow adjust things sample rate - way see if things working mixer/driver. i doubt issue au works whatever presented os   edit: assume have plugged pc 1 of firewire , not both? hello all! first post here, hoping tried pretty find on internet related problem. have hp pavilion dv6 laptop equipped ati mobility radeon 4650 gpu. using open source drivers instelled default since amd legacy drivers no longer support kernel , x version of ubuntu 13.04, i'm using. i've been using ubuntu few months , it; been having issues overheating in 12.10 too. i'd ask help, me overheating problems. laptop overheating when playing games, or when watching movies. i'm using program called lm-sensors measure temperatures. sometimes, when watching movie or playing hour or so, temps go 88 celsius, find quite unhealthy. tried setting power_profile, located in /sys/drm/card0/device mid, , low, still overheats. i'd appreciate kind of help, related power management, reducing temperatures, modifying system, drivers, something. thank in advance. ps. have attached lscpi , glxinfo output, hoping useful. ...

hi, all. bought new asus x201e. ironically, *came* linux, before installed ubuntu on myself, live booted , checked usual points of failure: wifi, touchpad, etc. never considered wired nic might not work. booted fine in ubuntu... no eth0. "ifconfig -a" shows lack. dmesg makes no mention of 8162. i have computer set start several vncserver instances on boot (following scripts here ). under 12.10 worked fine, somehow in 13.04 no longer works correctly. still tries run on boot, stalls on second user, , first vncserver inaccessible. if do /etc/init.d/vncservers restart , can see output starting first server correctly on :1, trying start second user on :1, locks script , apparently breaks first instance. script using copied 1 in link, except have changed usernames in /etc/default/vncservers file match real users. still identify users using different numbers *should* used different displays script in intit.d. haven't found error output far might help. if run vncserver manually, takes arguments fine , can open multiple users on different displays each user individually, that's ok, have multiple sessions going @ boot before. have ideas on cause or fix try? reference, although did have working under 12.10, fresh install of 13.04, not upgrade. copie...

hi,   so have .mov source file contains footage captured sony minidv camera (don't ask me why still using in november of last year) , believe possibly screwed capture settings. footage 50 minutes of uncut interview , audio gradually falls out of synch end it's half full second slower video. need edit file trim ends have clean fade in , out.   here's info on file displayed finder   i imported premiere pro cs6, put onto sequence, , clicked "change sequence settings" match clip settings. here resulting settings:   i unlinked audio track , moved sound of 2 people high fiving synched video. cut both video , audio tracks @ frame, deleted came after cut, , moved audio original position. looked @ duration of video track, , adjusted duration of audio track match. result audio speed adjusted 100.03%, , appeared synched throughout video.   i thought had solved problem; however, when exported video audio went falling out of synch slowly, in source file.   i exported fo...

hello.   my pc may randomly power off when using adobe flash video in browser.   similar topic: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1258555   a) temperatures in system ok. b) system survived multiple stress tests. focused on psu, on cpu, other on memory , other on graphics.   c)tested on: opera 12 , 20 browsers either playing flash, chance power off. when uninstalled opera requested adobe plugin automatically on youtube.   internet explorer 11 if adobe activex not present, videos on youtube played via html 5 without trouble. when activex installed there still no trouble, since have amd graphic card, ie requested enable "amd steady video plugin". once enabled there still chance power off pc.   catalyst settings: when amd steady video not installed, or disabled chance behavior still here.   if installed , enabled, system did not crashed due this.   i tried latest adobe flash 12, , previous 11 causing this. tried older catalyst (13.12), , behavior repeats...

first know telnet not secure not matter in case local network. no outside access, no internet, nothing. have had telnet-server package install , working. wanted rid of host name on login message(due screen size 20 chars). found use use inetutils-telnet server package (can put -h in /etc/inetd.conf) after install when try connect, connects , escape character message , waits 5 sec , connection closed foreign host. never asks login or password? not sure at. have not put -h in of yet. ideas helpful. i have learn flash , as3 university project. i've had luck adobe "classroom in book" series before now.   my question: there's book "actionscript 3.0 adobe flash pro.. cs5". however, adobe no longer sells cs5, cs6. , there seems no updated book actionscript 3.0 / falsh pro.. cs6.   will cs5 book still make sense if i'm using cs6? yes. long not planning upgrade flash cc (which in many ways hard reset of old cs versions) should fine. how shut off? chose option encrypt drive when installed ubuntu studio 12.10. now, time need restart (such updates) takes forever restart. end manually shutting off pc , turning on. still takes 2 minutes before can enter password. don't this. thought idea, , is, don't it. there way shut off reinstalling os? encrypting drive not process designed reversible. otherwise defeat reason encryption's existence (as security tool stops bad guys getting @ data). possible yank out encryption on files , whole directories, through brute force. basically, copy data backup in unencrypted form, delete encrypted directory, create replacement clear directory , copy data in. can't entire hdd because oses far more sensitive simple data. uuids, config files , dozens of other dependencies borked, option backup important data external medium , reinstall. larger picture: it's running joke among friends , family i'm...

i have asus laptop. can set touchpad disabled in bios sometime later becomes active again. reboot, check bios , still disabled, ubuntu boots , stays disabled while , becomes active of sudden. how stop this? use usb wireless mouse. run in terminal: code: sudo rmmod psmouse this should disable touchpad completely. if works create file called disable-touchpad (you can call whatever want) following contents in /etc/modprobe.d/ : code: # /etc/modprobe.d/disable-touchpad blacklist psmouse this make touchpad persistently disabled. if want enable run: code: sudo modprobe psmouse and remove /etc/modprobe.d/disable-touchpad file. hi guys, running ubuntu 12.04lts dream year, no issues there. thought i'd give 13.04 trial ran live usb & see wanted install side side 12.04 until have used long enough make sure there no issues @ (i couldn't wifi work in 12.10 hence why i'm still on 12.04). install successful no option choose between 12.04 or 13.04 on boot up, automatically boots 12.04 before. ideas? thanks, joe. in 12.04 open terminal , run: sudo update-grub detect other oss , make dual boot menu. provided 13.04 did install successfully. we own adobe acrobat standard 9.0 volumelicense. have deploy acrobat standard sccm, thats why i've made package updated acrobat standard latest version 9.5.5. (take .msi , add .msp's) after this, have customized .msi adobe customization wizard 9. im trying install newly generated (updated) acrostan.msi. unfortunately install fails because of invalid serial number. if install basic acrostan.msi (version 9.0) installation successful. do? lot reply & help! does customized installer work in full ui mode? if yes, install script have in it? if no, it's problem either mst or media. acrobat 9 had different media volume , retail versions. i did fresh install of ubuntu 13.04 64bit , able play sound via hdmi using open source drivers. problem there no hardware acceleration via drivers , make fan spin if left idle hours. amd graphics drivers have installed version 13.4 amd legacy driver. have edited kernel parameters like: grub_cmdline_linux_default="quiet splash" , changed to: grub_cmdline_linux_default="quiet splash radeon.audio=1" (this method worked open source drivers not closed source drivers) appreciated please provide hw info. @ minimum, do: code: lspci -vk | egrep -ia13 "vga|audio" your boot parameter won't work because radeon.audio parameter specific open-source radeon driver whereas have closed-source fglrx installed. sound being piped through motherboard sound chip instead of video card, impossible know without proper hw info. i using macbook pro. specs are: - os x version 10.9.2 - 2.5ghz intel core i5 processor - 4gb 1600mhz ddr3 ram   when import video aftereffects cc, audio , video out of sync. audio , video files right size, length etc. way out of sync. end of 2 minute video, can out 5-6 seconds. applies videos imported device. iphone, usb , videos i've recorded directly computer. files try , import mp4 files, i've found same issues other video files. i've tried importing them separetely audio file , video file. nothing seems work. experienceing same issue premiere cc.   please help. needing these programs work assessment items.   - andrew without knowing specs of videos hard say. i'm running mac , having no such issues.   my first thought have 3rd party installed causing conflicts. if else fails try transcoding mp4 files frame based codec using adobe media encoder. pick 1 of apple production codecs or jpeg compressed quicktime.   are running ram preview? did render premiere tim...
