this fresh install of kubuntu 13.04 64amd, crashes after login. crash here means black screen, mouse pointer responds, not. there screen full of static white text, black. possible ctrl-alt f1 tty, not. sometimes, crash frozen screen no response mouse or keyboard. crash seems happen @ random few minutes after log in. on 1 occasion, nvidia driver 313 activated, system crashed when shutting down reboot. tried fresh install using different usb stick, same result. iso file downloaded bittorrent, , md5sum checks out. self check of live drive says ok. on login, bar @ bottom of screen empty, except 3 dots button of show activity manager. see screenshot below. crash might associated xorg. 1 happened when attempting select screensaver. time, attempting select screen capture mode in ksnapshot caused crash. hardware desktop, few years old, , has run earlier versions of kubuntu 64 ok. cpu: intel core2 quad, 4gb ram gpu: nvidia geforce gtx580 snapshot_kub...

i have nice upgrade 13.04. same old problem, more annoying ever!!! don't need keyring, never use it! have auto login nothing works except leaving blank password keyrings. if delete keyrings application wants create keyring (like chrome). , cannot create keyrings blank passwords (they're stored in clear text), want enter passwords when needed!!! can't take pop anymore... why have auto-login in first place??? can tell me how remove keyring together??? hello! i've been using audition 5.5 , have blue yeti microphone. i've been doing covers while on audacity, overall sound wasn't enough. when tried audition, sound better voice wouldn't sync background music. tried record in real time , add music later doesn't work. can tell me i'm doing wrong??? possibly haven't got parts of recording chain set correct sample rate. blue yeti, windows sound , audition must set same sample rate. audacity windows having sample rate conversion match mic audio software. doing cause quite loss in sound quality. audition trying correct thing when recording saves file incorrect sample rate info causing play slowed down. okay here's whole story, have whole bunch of sequences in premiere file i'm working on , each sequence needs after effects comp. started link comps , work on laptop running windows 8, latest premiere , after effects , works fine. when move on desktop (by way of work on protable hard drive work on) link comps on desk top , after effects linked comps aren't working. desktop running windows 7 , latest premiere , after effects. when click on "replace after effects comp" comes after effects, timeline long clip, there's nothing in project window other comp. i've looked on place solution problem, apparently problem has been around since cs3 days, hope can come solution this. cheers all! i'm new ubuntu user (as of 2 days ago) , having problem admin password. got asus x201e preloaded ubuntu. came temporary admin user, , added admin user. not prompted create password user, asked password each time try admin task (in users panel under system settings says "account disabled" in password box). under original temp user don't have admin privileges, , therefore can't make changes system. have tried requires me have admin password, knowledge doesn't exist! i've tried potential default passwords (carriage return, admin, password, default, ubuntu) none of them has worked. have tried reboot in rescue mode recommended few posts read, system not seem reboot. screen goes blank when restart or shut down, shortly returns ubuntu. holding down shift key during process doesn't change anything. i'd try next step, not sure how proper reboot grub menu. hope can help! thanks. otherwise using ubuntu, , eager continue. holly ...

i'm running 12.04 on dell 3000 using hanspree hf255 monitor. when system boots recognizes monitor , resolution (1920x1080) correctly. when go wake system screen saver/lock, resolution has been downgraded. after waking system can open displays option. when that, window opens, resolution goes should displays display opens. once close displays window stays should until next sleep cycle. can explain happening , how can prevent it? tia john a similar thing happening me under 12.04.2 lts. doesn't happen every system cycle, happens enough pita. hi all, i've been experimenting various spreadsheet applications in ubuntu 12.04 , have not found way macros working with excel 2010 (32bit) in playonlinux / wine in windows 7. let me first libreoffice calc excellent, , through troubleshooting i've learned run macros perfectly, , can record them (in v3.5 @ least) enabling experimental features (kudos libreoffice team!). i know, should use time i'm doing work on tight deadline right , know in excel. i'll make switch when have time settle in...promise in meantime, i'd appreciate if me excel/wine macros working . spreadsheet (created in excel/wine, saved in .xlsm format) involves simple macro populates table @ click of button (type value in cell, copy , paste output here here kind of thing). running excel in wine allowed me record macro no problems, not run (using button or otherwise) without crashing. ideas? when first imported in premiere pro (cc7.2.1) of mxf 4k files sony f55 worked perfectly. preview files in source window , use metalogging skim through them. additionally create , export sequences , preview them in realtime @ 1/2 resolution - preview quick , fluid.   two weeks later , i'm struggling sort of preview on same premiere projects. open project, , if try preview clip in source window frame 1 , audio, never sort of playback. if try preview sequence media pending, black screen or audio only.   i haven't moved clips original folder , isn't complaining can't find them. never seems render them no matter how long leave it. imported whole camera archive in tact, , new project same archive won't preview.   interestingly, if use direct link speedgrade play instantly in speedgrade   i'm using mbpr cuda mercury.   when open project avchd files seems work ok, of several projects have these mxf raw files fail preview anything.   any appreciated.     u...

i switched final cut , absolutely love premiere pro.   the thing... can't seem past it's incredibly hard select center of small clips, because hover mouse towards center of clip, edges want seize attention of cursor if might want drag edge of clip or apply transition.  guess it's determining number of pixels cursor away edge of clip, want turn number down.   is there way adjust this?  it's annoying have zoom in time, grab center of little image overlay or something.  if there way adjust edge of clip "stickyness", absolutely love know it.  i have similar issue with clip stickiness.   in regard issue...zooming in thing have found.   my issue.!   if 1 has bunch of clips butted (same video track) , 1 wishes nudge 1 of them... ctrl-shift->....the edge of adjoining clips affected , dragged action.  works rolling trim  edit.   i have thought snap (magnet) should controls ...but doesnt.   all clips should totally independent...

computer 2 days old.  facebook based gamer.  use google chrome , firefox.  chrome works fine....firefox tells me still need install flash on regular sites bed , breakfast trying see virtual tour on...and said computer blocked because of danger.......but in games on firefox flash based pages lagging, freezing up, , graphics not showing.  not use ie because not support user scripts.........so not issue...this firefox.   please advise.  downloaded flash 12 right off adobe site   edit:  read reply mike on elses' post gave 3 links - 1 active x full installer ie, 1 plugin mac , 1 plug in "all other browsers".........if supposed use installers, should uninstall adobe flash 12 plugin have first? for firefox, need flash player plug-in (all other browsers) chrome has own plug-in works independently of firefox's or ie's.
