Ok....How do i do this?

i have asked in different threads think question hard understand try pics , description tease idea , question out. new illustrator.

 

ok here goes;

 

1.  make new document 3243px x 3243 , place image of same size

2. scale image , embed

 

 

3. create object mosaic 100 x 100 make pixelated look

4. >object>ungroup.  select single cell color

5. >select>same>fill color

 

so question each grouped color/shade replace symbol

 

can think of or recommend way of doing step?

 

if unclear please ask, know terminology probable inprecise

select squares of 1 color (magic wand)

 

then use script findandreplacegraphics here: http://kelsocartography.com/scripts/

 

to replace them 1 one.
