hi,   i made post time ago in illustrator forum, it's acrobat issue. here's link. perhaps can picked or moved here admins. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1383150?tstart=0   thanks. upon further reading, understand problem called stitching , occurs in areas transparency during flattening. acrobat slices object transparency regions flattens , "stitches" them together. stitching exhibits small shifts (1 or more pixels) or/and overlaps between adjacent regions, resulting in visible glitches. surprisingly, region has been flattened can further shift if file printed again pdf (with flattening preset).   if don't want option of preserving live transparency in pdf (offered acrobat 5.0 , later), how can reduce or perhaps eliminate shifting/overlapping issue? and why these regions further shift if print pdf again? i created first dreamweaver site , i'm having trouble putting on internet.  index page goes (minus 2 images) none of other pages go.  checked site's links , there no broken links.  when pull remote view, pages , images listed.  idea why they're not online? if showing on remote view, online. chances need clear browser's cache fresh download of pages/images.   if doesn't it, there few things check...   servers case sensitive. index.html, index.html , index.html different files server, not local os. links work locally, not on server. make sure links match case structure of file names pointing to.   verify server root directory (public, www, ht_docs, etc) not within local site. need transferring content of local site folder (local root) server's root folder. if have server root directory in local site, may uploading redudnant folder. posting screenshot of expanded files window (click 2 square button) while connected show server next local files determine if happen

hello everyone! installed xubuntu 12.10 on laptop (toshiba tecra m9). works nice, battery life shorter on installed win xp. tried several ways reduce power consumption (by cpu in case), nothing worked me: jupiter applett software able change cpu speed (800 mhz, 1,2 ghz , 1,8 ghz) , more. problem was, jupiter applett caused fs mounted read-only when powered battery. fs correctly mounted while powered ac. strange thing. removed jupiter applett because of problem. anyway, software has stopped active development, maybe not idea use in in new installations anymore. cpufrequtils daemon (cpufreqd) crashes while starting , causes xfce generate problem report. not able use commands included in cpufrequtils. cpu frequency controll in xfce-starter starter showing actual frequency, can not changed ("no cpu scaling driver available on system"). have no experiences on topic (i used several linuxes, never before on laptops) , maybe have done terribly wrong.

i have old hp officejey have been using desktop printer years. pretty stiopped working. far can tell have mande no changes should have affected printing. have been unable determine whta problem is. hp-probe hangs when searching parrlllel port. lpstat -v returns expected results. job submitted printer shows in que not print. lsmod |grep par returns expected results lpinfo -v not show parallel ports hp-check -t finds printer , hangs. hp printers not known quality construction. takes 1 bad capacitor , printer toast. can print test page front panel? create new printer different name, point original printer location. if works, delete old printer. printer queue gets messed up. i'm betting hardware failure. updates kernel can mess cups printers. hello, recently, noticed ttys 1 through 6 inaccessible me. when ever try enter them, results in display going sleep. did connect computer through vga slot, , machine running kubuntu (the 1 i'm running on right now) connects through dvi slot, total of 2 computers. if helps, i'm talking local ttys-the ones can access pressing ctrl-alt-f(whatever number). used these lot when wanted several commands running in own distinct environment, or when application freezes, , it's little annoying not having access them anymore. gladly appreciate can offer me . hi emeraldbot. using more 1 monitor? console ttys able run in primary (main) monitor, other monitors go blank (or sleep, described it). graphic card has more 1 output? dvi or vga? try switching monitor other one, , try getting ttys there. let know how goes. regards.
