i have been having dad on ubuntu since way in 2008. 4 weeks ago, reinstalled ubuntu upgrade 10.04 12.04. week afterwards, screen froze @ random, , seemingly in conjunction connecting/disconnecting garmin gps usb unit, , attempting upload device. upon every startup after shutdown -h, pc hangs several minutes after auto-login, pointer cannot moved. here output of dmesg on pastebin . can see, there lot of code: device descriptor read/8, error -110 errors, seemingly related usb ports. didn't change on computer before error occured. error occurs without keyboard/mouse plugged in. tried add usb pci controller, , plugged usb cables that. didn't fix issue. our company having issues recent flash update.   running ie 9 on windows 7 32/64 bit.   on pages flash content browser crash on sites flash content.   troubleshooting steps have taken.   1. reset ie settings 2. run ie addins disable except flash 3. clear flash cache ane ie cache 4. ran tne flash clean tool , uninstalled both activex , flash 5. removed microsoft emet   for security reasons can not turn off dep monitoring of internet explorer,  there known issues of type else seeing? firefox works no issues, issue appears ie9 non-64 bit browsers. my best guess ms needs update dep activex. fact firefox works indicate it's problem activex plug-in, if flash itself, firefox prompt dep error too. i've upgraded operating system tiger , have had problems cs5 since. uninstalled it, did not de-activate. need reinstall on same computer now. should have deactivated it? proper steps @ point not use number of times can install or activate. if upgrade computers in next year, can still install on new 1 after this? thanks!!! i'll assume works same way on macs on pcs - no reason suppose otherwise.   your activation enables have 2 activated installations @ 1 time. idea can have 1 on desktop , 1 on laptop, , you're not supposed use both @ once... . it's fine uninstall without deactivating, if intend put software on same machine, if intend use on one, need deactivate when removing first one.   so means can roll activations around if want, long don't attempt have more 2 current @ same time. i trying acheive stop motion effect on videos. have right clicked on sequence, selected sequence settings, changed editing mode "custom", , wider range of frames per second (10fps-60fps). need lower fps 10 better looking stop motion effect. possibly 6fps? have tried right clicking footage, modify, interpret footage , "assuming frame rate" gives slow motion effect. in premiere pro cc way. thanks change clip within normal framerate sequence achieve "effect".   there effect 'posterise time' ( iirc)  may suit you. i recorded audio in audition @ 16-bit mode, although macbook appears work best in 32-bit mode. did recording can compatible pcs , audio uploader use @ work, uses 16-bit mode.   now unable play recording on macbook. need edit , upload system @ work.   how can make audio file compatible both systems/play can @ least edit it? sorry, think need lot more information how recorded material , did when became unplayable.  sort of audio interface did use?  full details of settings used record:  bit depth (16 bit?), sample rate, type of file saved (.wav .aif or else), sort of thing?   fyi, audition can convert file types , sample rates/bit depths required.  similarly, there's no reason pcs can't work in 32 bit floating point--it's down software choose it.  however, if have end in 16 bit uploader may stick that. stop me if heard one.... built computer month ago using gigabyte ga-990fxa-ud3 rev 3 motherboard. put in windows 7 64 bit professional. everthing went well, not problem. decided go ahead , install ubuntu 12.10. i've read online, wasn't faint of heart among own ga-990fxa-ud3 did anyway. big suprise, wired network won't connect. tries, doesn't connection. disables, tries again. have done following steps no success i have swapped out seemingly faulty r8169.ko , replaced r8168.ko available here. i've tried every method directed in readme in tarball, various methods mentioned elsewhere on web. i've attempted reboot unplugging machine wall bit. i have tried installing 12.04 i managed find old netgear wg111 usb adapter , got work giving me internet. did clean install of ubuntu network connection (preivious installs did not have network connection), updated system upon first boot. fyi: after update ethernet

hey guys, today tried update ubuntu server have running @ home testing purposes. older (non-pae) machine running 32bit 12.04 lts failed update errors below. won't boot ubuntu have reinstall it. went wrong? did try install pae kernal though not supported? before starting update, did correctly several *pae packages being ignored... your screen shot showing grub found pae kernel images. post output of: code: ls -la /boot i think suspicion correct, update loaded pae kernel, , if processor can't handle it, nothing work. should able boot previous kernel. have them listed in grub when boot up? i've done minimal install of ubuntu 12.04 lxde. can't check updates on boot. under "desktop session settings" have checked update notifier automatically started application, doesn't seem work. when open update manager have nothing install. click "check" , bunch of things show updated. how can fix this? the automatic check done once day (or ever set for). entirely possible there no updates install when it's check. when manually check automatic check may have done many hours before , bingo there updates install. can leave automatic update feature it's job. try , see.
