Thread: Sound stopped working with Creative Labs CA0106 Soundblaster

hello all,

installed sound card several months ago. @ first worked perfectly, after maybe couple of months there no audio output (i lost track when). have enough time devote problem, spring break.

followed relevant instructions in sound troubleshooting guide (by lkjoel , wildmanne39), no effect. sound card , speakers work fine when use windows xp. 1 of things notice in sound settings, default device "built-in audio analog stereo", , while recognizes "ca0106 soundblaster analog surround 5.1", unselected when booting up. same in hardware portion of sound settings.

here relevant outputs:

have reinstalled alsa. have edited /etc/asound.conf set card 1 device 0 default. neither of these had effect. not sure else can try @ point. in advance can suggest!

more information: i'm running 32-bit ubuntu 12.04. please let me know if there's more information can offer make problem easier solve.
