i'm running ubuntu 11.10 main boot partition , s/w on ssd , raid 1 partition setup holding mythtv recordings. server set auto-start when there recording made. problem (and sometimes) system doesn't boot stops @ point requests os use (no when there's no 1 around!!) hitting return on default ubuntu version selected results in system completing startup. past investigations suggested failure due raid 1 partition not coming up, i've seen, example, situation array has 1 disc , needs other recovered (which being 1tb can take time), re-boot can resolve straight away. system not starting seems random , seems related raid 1 array failing start. think i've seen mentioned known problem linux raid, however, ideas might causing problem and/or how fix welcome i'd system become operational 1 replacing ageing 8.10 mythtv system, @ moment can't happen it's unreliable. check cables. had similar is

hi everybody,   i'm trying out id cc on imac running os x 10.9.2 , after couple of commands, save, save as, undo, etc grayed out. i've tried restoring preferences, restoring permissions, reinstalling cc after complete clean adobe cc cleaner tool, created new user account, exported .idml cleanup file,  , on. think i've tried every step out there....all updates in place , bugg still persists. when restart id works couple of minutes, more, other times less, , goes same behaviour. does know why happening or have other ideas on how fix it?   thanks. i installed cc yesterday. i'm having same problem right start. hello all, few days ago, i've noticed wireless has stopped working on computer. lasts few hours, survives few on/offs wireless switch (fn + f2), not work when turn on wireless again. wireless icon in top right indicates wireless disabled, , when attempt toggle airplane mode in network manager in settings, message changes "device not ready". in order working again, have dual-boot windows (where isn't working there either when boot up), , disable/reenable device driver in there using device manager. not cold shutdown good. in bad state right now, connected ethernet internet. infeasible me because school not have wired internet virtually anywhere. should note installed dansguardian , squid 3 on computer few days ago , did not experience problem before this. can't feel uneasy state of laptop since have fiddle around in windows work. , disconnecting dansguardian , squid did not restore wireless internet, far can tell. i'll have see happens

hello folks i'm administering server setup else, learning how exim works go along we're running exim 4.71-3ubuntu1.4 on our 10.04 lts server , have noticed issues spf rejecting ipv6 hosts when shouldn't. there's known bug found, think our problem. http://bugs.exim.org/show_bug.cgi?id=860 anyway, it's not practical upgrade newer version, thought i'd disable spf. looking @ logs, don't block many emails via spf checking anyway. so, have edited /etc/exim4/conf.d/main/01_spamblock , changed check_rcpt_spf = true check_rcpt_spf = false ran update-exim4.conf service exim4 reload checking mainlog file morning, can still see few 'spf check failed' entries, hasn't disabled spf checking. have missed something? there else need run reload config? i've checked in /var/lib/exim4/config.autogenerated , change shows in there. this fixed. needed

i install both linux , windows on newly bought ssd(sda) and when installed linux, chose install bootloader on ssd(sda). after finished, got black screen when chose boot ssd, but strange thing got grub menu when chose boot hdd(sdb), and i'm sure chose ssd bootloader installation location. so why did bootloader transfer ssd hdd? does mean ssd can't hold mbr or bootloader @ beginning of it? i boot ssd without issue. sure installed ssd? grub likes default sda , drive order not fixed. can reinstall grub inside install, confirm sda , sdb. example uses sdb, change sda if needed. #reinstall working (not livecd/dvd/usb) system - first find ubuntu drive (example drive sdb use drive not partitions): sudo fdisk -l #if it's "/dev/sdb" run: sudo grub-install /dev/sdb #if returns errors run: sudo grub-install --recheck /dev/sdb sudo update-grub maybe should anyway. grub on major update

i configured mac mini osx server act l2tp vpn server. configuring quite easy, choose l2tp, fill out vpn host name , shared secret. made changes router allow vpn traffic forwarded server. setting mac os x , ios clients easy. fill out same info configured on server, provide user name , password , voila, done in 30 seconds on each client! want use ubuntu box l2tp client well. tried installing l2tp-ipsec-vpn , packages depends on (like xl2tpd, openswan etc.) whatever option choose in gui, cannot connect mac! googling around didn't provide me answer well. find loads of configuration files examples related connecting vpn servers other macs. can explain me how can connect l2tp vpn running on os x server? shouldn't first time done, presume. in advance! seems i'm one?? greetings all. here ubuntu 12.10 (loving it) , jailbroken iphone 4s on ios 6.1.2 . using banshee 2.6.0 organize music. (i use puddletag heavy tagging buzinezz, irrelevant). need synchronize music library (on ~/music) 4s. problem when try open banshee while 4s plugged in (or vice-versa), banshee opens per normal, promptly becomes unresponsive (along window being grayed out). note quantal recognize 4s, allowing me browse 'iphone 4s' , 'documents on iphone 4s'. after moments of waiting, banshee indeed becomes responsive again, after 3-5 seconds or so, becomes unresponsive once again. whole cycle repeats, assume banshee tries recognize , mount (?) 4s, failing, , trying again , again (to no avail). have tried quantal's native music player, rhythmbox, seems fail. so, questions are: 1. issue seen in case of (very current) version of ios, jailbroken iphones in general, or combination of both? 2. how can fix it? failing which: 3. fi

i'm using acrobat pro 11.0.06 on osx 10.9.2   i not able convert many of scanned , ocred documents either pdf/a-2b or pdf/a-3b.   the problem seems use of .notdef-glyphs in acrobat's ocr. on documents ocr produces .notdef-glyphs (which shouldn't in 2014). glyphs aren't allowed in pdf/a-2 , pdf/a-3 anymore. there function in preflight pdf/a-presets supposed replace .notdef-glyphs doesn't after all. created custom preflight profile should replace .notdef-glyphs doesn't work! that's why preflight reconverts every single pdf via postscript, thereby losing ocr-text. pdf/a-1b still works ocred scans since pdf/a-1 still allows .notdef-glyphs. doesn't allow e.g. jpeg2000!   i guess acrobat shouldn't use .notdef-glyphs in it's ocr anymore , should make preflight-function supposed replace them working!   i reported problems pdf/a conversions in may 2012 adobe didn't fix anything.
