i installed ubuntu 13.04, had lot of problems, reinstalled 12.04 have no touchpad. system settings>mouse , touchpad has no tab 'touchpad', although did work before, , during installation, reinstallation. also, have no sound. system settings>sound elicits no sound test buttons. sound card not set, output reads 'dummy output' toshiba 600d satellite. tips out there??? still have no touchpad , no sound, kind soul have tip?? i've been having problem on 12.10 latest kernel updates @ least 3 months hoping new (k)ubuntu version somehow fix it. if recall correctly, after updating kernel 3.0.5-21 onwards, error upon loading kde: splitscreenerror.jpg can see screen area somehow split in 2 parts. kinda cool not wanted! @ first hoped fixed (or go away) next kernel update wasn't! after testing both kubuntu , ubuntu 13.04 on system today, same split screen error. what's more there seem no install options live dvd tests, gui messed up. i've got brand new sony vaio (i7, 6gb ram, ati vga [radeon 7500m/7600m series]). i've tried install "official" ati linux driver in past without success. installed allright couldn't 3d acceleration work regressed 1 provided repos. i'm heavy blender user , hardly possible use on such high end system, same. clues? really make transition 13.04 guess need sort out damn ati graphics issue first. current xorg.conf

i have signed creative cloud, , have received vip number already.   after downloading lightroom 5 when launched program asked serial number! following instructions forum removed lightroom 5 , opened creative cloud desktop app. lightroom 5 not included in apps can download???   in effort [hopefully] @ least 1 piece of software money paid over, through app downloaded indesign cc. strangely enough when launched software---- asked serial number.   how hard can adobe make transition painless? how load software , work? have cs6 licenced software on mac already. i've read using more more graphics card under linux either amd or nvidia yields less desirable results. i'm (attempting ) build first pc wondering getting 2 older amd gpus (don't know model) , running them in crossfirex issue has halted such plans. experiences has had when running 2 gpu's in intandem? is gaming? i've used 2 nvidia cards not connected each other (sli), have 2 gpus computing opencl, no problems there. ubuntu 12.04 ddclient not using ipcheck service. instead, running ddclient daemon on system directly read's modem's external ip , updates domain host's records reflect external ip. have noticed daemon setting inside /etc/ddclient.conf code: # update time in seconds daemon=300 -is in seconds , many google searches show people setting 5 minutes couple of hours. makes me wonder if ddclient doing update domain host each timeout or if first checking see if external ip has changed before decides whether or not take action , hassle domain host service update? hi   i'm runing coldfusion 9.0.2 dev edition , setup remote solr server.   i setup 2 solr servers test this:   one apache-solr , tomcat one solr , jetty   in cf admin pannel put remote server info , submit changes wont show collections (not matter wich solr server put). if create new collection show error      unable create collection test1. unable create solr collection test1. error occurred while creating collection: java.lang.runtimeexception. check solr logs more detail.   there no errors in logs , can see new collection in solr server not in cf admin   i believe i'm missing in cf server ideas appretiated   ps: im runnin 30day trial license test dont think has limitation it?
