Why can't Chrome find the webpage when Previewing in Browser?

hi -

this thoroughly bizarre me.

i can preview site i'm working on using browser have except chrome (current version 33.0.1750.152).

 

as example - when use preview in browser - chrome says "the webpage not found" - path page is:

file://external-drive/_projects/client/_files-from-client/_site-031614/index.html

 

my next step manually navigate page using chrome's file/open.  works when page appears path different:

file:///volumes/external-drive/_projects/client/_files-from-client/_site-031614/index.html

 

this second path same path in manage sites/site/local site folder line.  other browsers (ffox, safari, opera) use second path.  reason chrome has shortened path incorrect address.  weird!

 

i don't think related mavericks because happening before upgrade.

 

has else had happen?  can explain how can fix this?

dreamweaver version 12 (cs6), mac os x 10.9.2.

yes, have no idea why. chrome find file 1 time when use 'preview in chrome' via dw  i'll have to use 'file open' method page cannot found using 'preview in chrome'.

 

i'm on mac well. 10.6.4 (whatver snow leopard maybe , chrome 33.0.1750.152 (whatever is)
