hey guys,

okay created ubuntu 12.04 live usb using guide on website hp pavilion dm4 laptop. installer boot menu. hit run ubuntu usb , black screen nothing seems loading. after 5 minutes hear login screen sound , quick flash goes black screen. have installed ubuntu 10.04 stuck on 1074x768 resolution installed 3rd party drivers force 1366x768 resolution meant monitor. i'm thinking has graphics card. can me out here?

here specs of laptop:
processor intel® core™ i5-2410m turbo boost technology: 2.3 ghz
memory 4 gb ddr3
hard drive 640 gb sata (5400 rpm)
optical drive supermulti dvd burner graphics
amd radeon hd 6470m (1 gb ddr3 dedicated)
display 35.5 cm (14,0") high-definition led hp brightview display 1366 x 768

im marking solved installed linux mint instead

Some mp4 files not displaying correctly (CS6)

a week ago in premiere pro cs6 world. one day updated windows, next day few .mp4 video files opened in premiere pro, played fine well, except fact display has green (sometimes multicolour, solid green block) bars in lower third of screen. see screenshot below.   these same files open/display fine in after effects, photoshop , vlc- , quicktime players. i'd read fromyears ago windows updates causing this, removed 1 of therecent kb's no avail. i did install adobemediaencodertrial_64-6.0.3-mul-adobeupdate and dynamiclinkmediaserverretail-1.0.1-mul-adobeupdate and reverted quicktime 7.6 but nothing makes difference.   in end, formatted c:\, reinstalled windows 7 ultimate 64bit , downloaded/installed 260 updates , reinstalled cs6 (and aforementioned ame , dlms updates , qt7.6) it's still same problem.   also tried exporting (part of) 1 of these files, see if wasn't display problem: exported file same properties original has green bars.   what else can do?   thanks in advanc
