Second license Lightroom 4 to 5

so upgraded lightroom 5 on desktop (imac) lr 4.3.  no problems.  wasn't using lr on laptop.  i'd to.  tried download lr4 first , serial number desktop version wouldn't work.  red x appeared upon entering final number. 

 

question:  need download lr4 first laptop , if why won't serial number work?  (yes, i've double-checked number). 

 

question 2:  if don't need download lr4 first, how download lr5 entering license number?

are both desktop , laptop computer macs? 

 

did buy lr appstore or adobe or other physical store or online retailer?  appstore version might work differently, have never used it, adobe-bought 1 should work on 2 computers. 

 

was lr4 first lr you’ve purchased or upgrade lr3?

 

the non-appstore version of lr licensed install on 2 computers.  i’d think you’d; able download lr5 laptop, assuming has new enough os, , use both lr5 , lr4 serial numbers activate it.

 

you can latest lr5 version http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates

 

what i’m saying put lr5 on both computers if os new enough support , mavericks free upgrade.
