Thread: Custom Minimal Server ISO for VPS Deployment

hi everyone.

start project create own minimal ubuntu server iso vps deployment (lots of vps) , hoping pointers.

need iso allow installation technician input various parameters @ beginning of install in order various services setup.


  1. domain name - installations have different domain name associated them - used setup various services such openssl, openvpn, drupal, mail name few.
  2. list of services installed - should allow technician select specific services preseeded list installed


once done installation needs install , configure services selected absolute minimum apache, mysql & php.

need installation connect custom repository upgrades once installation has completed (i setup own repository packages needed vps).

have read little pre-seeding , rolling own distro packages on iso not sure how go taking input technician initiate installation, know how can this?

also, 1 of install options drupal - know how can pre-seed drupal installation installing via drush instead of web setup?

regards ssl certificate - many services sharing same certificate on secure.domain.name using different ports (for example webmail, smtp, pop3, openvpn etc.) how easy automate , possible automate ca setup?

also, regards setting full disk encryption - possible grab encryption pass phrase remote location? don't want installation technician know pass phrase nice automate process , grab pass phrase passphrase.domain.name text file.

Some mp4 files not displaying correctly (CS6)

a week ago in premiere pro cs6 world. one day updated windows, next day few .mp4 video files opened in premiere pro, played fine well, except fact display has green (sometimes multicolour, solid green block) bars in lower third of screen. see screenshot below.   these same files open/display fine in after effects, photoshop , vlc- , quicktime players. i'd read fromyears ago windows updates causing this, removed 1 of therecent kb's no avail. i did install adobemediaencodertrial_64-6.0.3-mul-adobeupdate and dynamiclinkmediaserverretail-1.0.1-mul-adobeupdate and reverted quicktime 7.6 but nothing makes difference.   in end, formatted c:\, reinstalled windows 7 ultimate 64bit , downloaded/installed 260 updates , reinstalled cs6 (and aforementioned ame , dlms updates , qt7.6) it's still same problem.   also tried exporting (part of) 1 of these files, see if wasn't display problem: exported file same properties original has green bars.   what else can do?   thanks in advanc
