Thread: How to Determine Full Path to Second Drive

i have desktop 3 drives in it. display "320gb hard disk/21gb filesystem", "320gb hard disk/297gb filesystem", , "file system". aware booting ubuntu drive "file system" , other 2 auxiliary storage.

want setup backup process using rsync backup home directory "297gb filesystem", don't know how express destination drive in "full directory path" terms, i.e., sda/sdb or whatever. cli command can use make determination? [i presume rsync doesn't have gui , run command line].

thanks.

if using file manager mount drives when click on them in couple of places...

if removable drives you'll find them in /media/<username>/
if permanently connected in /run/user/<username>/gvfs (for ubuntu 12.10 , later) or in /home/<username>/.gvfs/ (for 12.04 , earlier).

can find out full paths of of mounted drives running 'mount' command.

i presume rsync doesn't have gui , run command line
there gui can install called grsync, although don't use myself.
