Thread: No system > administrative menu after fresh install


i have reinstalled ubuntu @ least 12 times, it's no joke! keep doing stupid things mess sytem. 1 thing have noticed want of system > administration > menu. have looked everywhere. saw post said go "system > administration > "synaptic package manager"" of course couldn't. tried perform sudo apt-get install synaptic. follows message received:

can take 5 seconds tell me i'm missing. thanks

gksu synaptic
or press alt+f2 , type

code:
gksu synaptic
or if using new unity interface, tap windows/super key , type 'synaptic'.

careful following how to's , tutorials older ubuntu releases!

ps depending trying accomplish, maybe can use ubuntu software center, preinstalled default. it's simpler point-and-click interface synaptic, easy , user-friendly.
