Thread: Seeing Hard Drives

i running ubuntu 12.04, 64 bit version, using gnone desktop.

having problem seeing other drives on system - internal sata drives , petitions or external usb drives.

around 50% of time when boot up, drives visible , mountable. however, other 50% of time drives not visible whatsoever on system (e.g. on desktop, in computer or in places), although show in gparted.

question is: how can drives show if don't appear on boot-up (other rebooting system , hoping best)?

thank you, in advance, assisatnce!

when system functional.
when system next has problems mounting external devices run code make file of current situation:
code:
sudo cp /var/log/dmesg /var/log/dmesg-debug2
[debug1 ->debug2].
