Thread: Unable to disable secure boot


using asus x501a

hello. i've been using ubuntu 3 years, , rather it. bought computer came infested windows 8, , set installing ubuntu on it.

----

hence, discovered secure boot needs disabled in uefi, read how , went in and...what...it's greyed out...i can't disable it.
indeed, says "secure boot control (disabled)", , cannot enable it.

tried setting password access uefi, i've heard unlock options, didn't.

how disable it? don't fancy idea of being forced use 8 , 8.

i've read somewhere on ubuntuforums windows7/8 required disabling secure boot in uefi
