Thread: Vexed by modem-router conflict (I think...)

here's basic problem: run 4 computers behind level 1 (wbr-6002) wireless router , arris (comcast) modem.

might tool along couple of days or week our internet connection inevitably crashes. go through rigamarole of rebooting both router , modem 30 minutes or several hours before manage sync (??), lights come on , we're connected internet again. note -- when router crashes, can on net bypassing router , plugging pc directly modem, signal comcast there.

read solution problem , tried -- reset mac address copy of pc mac address. router lights came on , in business -- except wife's windows 7 laptop, shows ssid of our home network tells have no internet, when other computers connected.

besides win 7 machine, 2 computers run ubuntu 12.10, , other 1 runs windows 8.

question: there better way configure router, or need new router? if so, known work comcast arris modem?

guess thought, switched comcast 20 mbps speed. never had problems when our speed 1 mbps. overwhelming router?

i replaced level 1 router cisco lynksys e900, , problem disappeared.
