Thread: How do I install themes on Ubuntu?

greetings programs! must confess, complete newb when comes ubuntu, linux, , whole shebang. however, did ubuntu 12.10 installed on external hard drive , dual booting alongside windows 7, try out, play it, , learn. default themes nice, big tron fan, , when discovered interface on flynn's terminal in tron: legacy form of ubuntu, thought way cool have type of display set theme. found these:

http://linux.softpedia.com/get/deskt...ui-68556.shtml

http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/?content=141391

trouble is, have no clu how install either one, although think both same theme. give me directions on how install these? have made no modifications install did, outside of fixing grub 2 boot loader (i accidentally installed half on internal , half on external, had have external drive plugged in boot windows @ all. able install grub on external solely , fix windows boot loader recovery disk, configured bios tries boot external first).

you have download them home folder. open terminal window , run following:
code:
tar -zxvf filename.tar.gz
afterwards drag-and-drop extracted folder styles list in settings manager > appearance.
