Thread: vnstat won't play with new usb dongle

i use vnstat keep track of data transfer usage. started use usb 3g dongle (which ubuntu likes call "eth1"), , vnstat refuses play it.

i thought maybe /var/lib/vnstat/eth1 directory missing because started using dongle after installing vnstat. went through this palaver:
