Thread: File syncing home network Ubuntu-W7

hi,

i've googled every google can, , i'm sure simple, it's beyond grasp.

can sync folders on 2 computers in house (ubuntu 12.04 , windows7) such when there's change on 1 file automatically changes corresponding file on other computer?

need setup survive computer restarts, , work automatically in background. find seems need run manually, or runs program not @ startup. thought close lucky, , unison, no cigar.

we've gone 1 family computer two, , we're kind of going on hot-seat basis, rather your-pc/my-linux basis: there's sitting on machine want use, it'd if didn't matter machine got used... need sync wife's hobby-business stuff, , son's minecraft stuff, , preferably automatically backup photos , documents etc.

suggestions? rsync can do?

while cannot give perfect answer, suggest read ( have no experiance them )

, search such rsync alike tools windows.

rsync can update filesystems on both sides.
watch out when configuring delete deleted files .. can delete much....

there @ least 2 windows rsync tools job. use cygwin, think overkill.
