Thread: Multiple 'boot from flash drive' situations playing nice together?

hi all!!

it's been long time since i've posted, , it's see community still growing have rather specific question ask, , although i'm using linux mint, felt appropriate ask here 1) ubuntu-based , 2) question distro-independent (kinda)

i'm wanting use 32gb sandisk flash drive go-to diagnostic tool. currently, have number of tools on there, far portableapps.com suite of software , couple of other things can't think of right now. i'd ideally include number of different tools on there, issue each of these tools (as understand it) overwrite boot record of drive/re-format specific needs. need them play nicely each other.

i'm wanting include of following on flash drive (or, if isn't possible, in bootable external hdd [recently purchased 1.5tb 1 on sale @ best buy])

• katana (of found one mention after quick search)
• portableapps.com suite of programs (an aside - there way have access tools without booting windows environment? haven't found indication of such while navigating it)
• hiren's boot cd, via usb of course
• linux multi boot (ala yumi or unetbootin, etc)
• and perhaps in future other suite of tools can find run off bootable usb

idea delusion of grandeur, or possible? understand logic behind it, not intimately familiar how mbr's/boot records work under linux.

appreciate in task, ask mini explanation of going on , why can gain deeper understanding , expand linux knowledge.
