Thread: Swap/Page files - Are they really necessary anymore?


these days new computers coming more , more ram out of box, , 8gb or higher becoming common. makes me wonder: page files/swap areas necessary anymore? sure, it's possible use ram , become necessary, can't think of many programs can push computer hard. can shed light on subject me?

swap space becomes more of issue when editing/encoding large graphics/video files.
