Thread: Catalyst 13.4 and drivers install on 13.04 32bit, radeon 6600M,

i've attempted install amd catalyst 13.4 , associated drivers, using instructions here http://askubuntu.com/questions/12429.../286775#286775.

upon restart i'm unable login screen instead greeted familiar prompt asking me either, -run in low graphics mode, -reconfigure graphics etc ever dropped me terminal.

after faff starting low graphics mode managed log in, find unity not start or windows decorations. managed remove proprietary drivers , re-install software centre drivers.

13.04 runs open drivers have problem (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...7?comments=all), causes shutdown overheating.

note if overheating issue solved, proprietary drivers ones offer graphics switching , decent performance @ minute.

lspci output below
code:
$lspci | grep vga 00:02.0 vga compatible controller: intel corporation 2nd generation core processor family integrated graphics controller (rev 09) 01:00.0 vga compatible controller: advanced micro devices [amd] nee ati whistler [radeon hd 6600m/6700m/7600m series]

mega bump!

attempted replicate problem , add more info. used rather scattergun approach grabbing log files attached various points in install.

if finds info stating doesn't work rarings current kernel, etc, please share . apologies rather rough live-blogging style.
