Thread: Can't connect to home wifi upon upgrading to 13.04 with Atheros AR9485 NIC

shortly after upgraded noticed getting kicked off wireless network frequently(i.e. more never)

looked around few forum threads google lead me to, there proposed solutions, didn't work.

figured might issue atheros drivers included in new kernel(i saw downloading 3.8 in distribution upgrade dialogue).

rebooted , grub menu, selected "ubuntu advanced options" , saw choose boot 3.5 kernel.

booted 3.5 kernel , problem solved. i'm going use synaptic uninstall 3.8 kernel keep 3.5 kernel , try rebooting. luck wont bork laptop , can software engineering homework.

update: synaptic complained when tried uninstall 3.8 kernel image. attempting make grub use 3.5 kernel default instead of 3.8. standby

update2: followed advice here make grub use older kernel version default. works, see more temporary patch permanent solution.

people googling same problem had find thread , solve problem too.

thanks update. i'm havign same problem. i'm running asus s500c atheros ar9485 wireless , azurewave device 2126 subsystem. switching old kernel safe solution? assumed want have up-to-date kernel. know you're saying it's temporary patch, i'm little hesitant implement method. i'd still in market more long-term answer, i'm guessing would. think might worth taking [solved] out of post? sorry if i'm being negative. work finding patch!
